Can you do 100?

Today I'm starting a new program from hundredpushups.com. By the end of the program, I should be able to do 10 sets of 10 pushups, with a small break in between each set. I need this. I have never worked my arms, and as I gain and lose weight and gain it again, it really shows right there. So check out the site and join me! I can't wait to see the end result. I have never been able to do a pull-up, even in elementary school, and a pushup was something I only did when I wanted to feel virtuous. Well, I'd like to really see what I can do. This program takes you through small steps, week after week, and you gradually increase your core strength. And it's not a competition, but a bettering of myself, which I am all about. I have to admit, though.... it would be more fun if people did it with me.

Shall I do a contest? Let's try this: If you're willing to post a before and after picture, at the end of the six week program, on my blog, I'll enter you for a random drawing of a prize of wooly goodness. And we'll better ourselves together!

Let's play! Please leave a comment so I can keep track of who's playing along. And do invite your friends. It's much easier to be motivated if we're all having fun together. Okay, maybe not fun. Do it anyway. It's good for us.

Gaaaaaah! I doubt I could even do 3. At least, not if we're talking full-body push-ups and not "knee" push-ups. OK, I'm willing to give it a go. But I may have to settle for the knee push-ups.

I was thinking about doing that, too! A few months ago I started really working my arms and have gotten up to one or two pullups...but I still suck at full body push ups.

I'm in :)

It would be good for us. I'll never forget going to a karate class and them asking me how many knuckle push ups I could do - I stopped at 30! I was SO proud of myself because I'd never really been that muscular before. But I'd been hitting the gym and building a cabin in the woods......

So, I'll try it. We will see if I do the before and after pix. Only if the after are astonishingly better. ;)

Pull ups have always been difficult for me.

Oooo, that sounds fun. Well, not "fun," but necessary, lol! I'm really looking forward to your progress.

I'm in. I'll take the test tonight, and my picture tomorrow. My arms need some serious work.

Count me in :)

I'm with Cheryl, though; I'll have to do the knee push-ups. I've never in my life been able to do more than one real pushup at a time!

I'm in! I'm not posting pics though. I'm one of those people who look really skinny and in shape, even when i'm weak and lazy, so...before and after probably won't look much different. I'm going to push my husband to do it with me, too. It'll be good for him.

I'm in! I'm getting married in just over 8 weeks and would love, love, love it if my arms and shoulders could look at least a little bit fitter than they do now. I just did the test and, sadly, managed only 7 knee push ups before my arms informed me that they were not doing any more work. Thanks for posting the link!

I'm in! I'm tired of waving goodbye to people and being fanned by my wings.

I'm in and I'll post pictures... this goes hand in hand with the Biggest Loser thing we're doing at work.
